Steps I have taken:

1. Made IP Static
2. Logged into Motorola SBG6580 and set port forward to computer's static IP and Port 1802.
3. Windows Firewall, added Outbound Rules for Port 1802 for both TCP and UNP (or whatever they are)
4. Windows Firewall, Added Inbound Rule for Port 1802 that the base install didn't add.
5. Still won't work.

Here's a video showing what I have done:

Any help would be much appreciated.

I suffer from the same issue, taken same steps, use same router/modem combo box you do.

What happens if you remove the manual forwarding and try the test? This will mean that FG will try UPnP to get it to work.

1) Try starting up a GM session (leave it running) and go to https://canyouseeme.org/ put 1802 in "port to check" and press "check port".
2) Check that there is no IP filtering, Port filtering, Port Triggers or DMZ host setup.

And, also FG running as a GM waiting for a player to connect, start another instance of FG on the same computer and "join game" with a host address of localhost - this will help to see if there are local connection issues.

I watched the video (great idea by the way) and that would be the steps I would follow as well. What struck me as odd was the port forward screen on your router. I Googled to see what it expected for the Remote Host Address and came across others having similar problems port forwarding for other applications and games. Here is the post and the pertinent section quoted if you wanted to try it.

I wanted to pass this along in case you are still plagued by it. I beat my head on this for about 3 days before finding this:
https://forums.comcast.com/t5/Home-Networking-Router-WiF...

Apparently you must set a Port Forward of 0.0.0.0 , set the port range to whatever you need (for 1 port same number in stard and end) click enable and it is supposed to fix it.

I have locked myself out of the cable modem I was trying to fix (remotely) so if you could try this and post back if it works, I'd like to know. I have been trying to simply enable remote web access of another router's admin pages behind the SBG6580, but could never get it to function. I found the 0.0.0.0 solution after I'd already locked myself out of the router.

Actually, it looks like you already have it set to 0.0.0.0 on the external, which sounds right, but you left the external ports as 0 to 0. That means that you will be trying to forward port 0 on your router's IP address to port 1802 on your local machine. Try setting the port range on the external side to 1802 to 1802 as well and let us know if that fixes it.

Motorola SBG6580 model with built in wireless and routing sucks. only way ive got these models to work is with switching them to bridge mode https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r27015950-TWC-How-to-run-a-Motorola-SBG6580-in-Bridge-mode. and using your own router.

Great news! Thanks again for sharing the video. I'm going to post that as an example to another user who is having similar problems with his router, which is the same brand.

I'm glad the videos were helpful and I have no problems with anyone using them to help others.
