Hi - you may want to check how the skill point updating occurs for the total in the box at the top of the skills page in the 3.5E character sheet (may also affect other rulesets).
For example, I deleted a knowledge category with 1 rank and the total at the top did not update properly. I had to wrestle it and put a rank somewhere else then delete it to finally get it to update. It seems like the code may not be connecting the user action of deleting skill categories as a even that causes the total to recalculate.
