So far, no takers on a previously-advertised Numenera game, so I thought I'd remind anyone interested that you should take a look at the game system and see if it might appeal to you.
I'd also be fine with running a more classic fantasy-based version of the game, if desired. Considering my own experience is mainly D&D and PF, that would be fairly east, if not simple.
For anyone feeling that Numenera doesn't have enough crunch, I'd say that you are less rule-bound but you can certainly optimize characters to be fun and "full of powers" to use - more so perhaps than low-level PF games.

Anyway, just a heads up.

Hi! I have seen some stuff about Numenera. I am new to FG and to traditional RPG's in general. Outside of buying the rule book, do you have any suggestions for learning about it?

great question.

I'd recommend looking into a couple of websites, such as : https://theninthworld.com/ and https://ninthworldhub.com/ ... as well as the official site that has articles from Monte Cook and others (an example page) : https://www.montecookgames.com/announcing-character-options-for-numenera/

The ruleset is new to me, but is easy to use and can accomodate a variety of play styles. There is not a rule for every occasion, but essentially, it gives the GM the ability to determine situational resolution on the fly - accurately, realistically, and easily... that's all my opinion, of course.
Downsides may include less character development, for some folks. I'd disagree, and simply say that min-maxing is fairly difficult but that making a cool character that fulfills a variety of roles and player desires at the same time is quite do-able (especially with my lightly house-ruled version of the game).

Good luck!

Interesting. I had never even heard of Numenera till I stumbled across FG, so totally unfamiliar with it. Going to have to take a look at it.

I've looked at those sites. Seems to me like the game system is interesting and fluid for storytelling. Has some smart stuff that reminfs me of Fate core ( the way you build your character with descriptors)

I'd advise you to give more information about your game. It's not obvious in what world, with what leads ect. the game will be played.

Certainly, here is a link to my invitation that was posted a couple weeks ago : https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?21100-Invitation-to-a-Game-of-Numenera

Further details are available upon request, but hopefully the description here is adequate for most.
