I'm new to FG and recently purchased it from Steam, but not new to RPG etc., however after navigating on my own for a while i've come to realise that the included rulesets with my purchase are not accessible within FG as i want to create a campaign using 4E ruleset.

I am very unfamiliar with the UI for this program and would like some help with sourcing information.

On the main menu click create campaign, name your campaign, select 4e as the ruleset, click start and you're good to go.

I've already created a campaign, i think what i'm referring to is that i cannot source any references to go on in order to setup the campaign while in FG

Are you talking about library reference information. With 4e, there's no SRD as WotC didn't publish one and won't license the content. I believe that there are parsers that you can use to read the 4e PDFs or a DDI account. Others should be able to help with those, or search for "parser".

(e.g.: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?17485-4E-Item-Parser&highlight=parser)

OK, I think I need a little bit more info before I can try to help.

Are you referring to the SW rules (ie Strength, etc), adventure details (ie maps, story entries, etc), or stuff that is in existing Library Modules?

Wotc wont let anyone purchase a license for 4e. So you won't find any included. There's a parser you can use to make your own if you have access to Insider material. Only Pathfinder and 3.5 comes with library modules out of the box.

For User Guides and videos refer to the Wiki: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

The general tutorials are a good place to start.

Thanks you to all your posts. I will surely have other questions but i just created a campaign in 3.5e and discovered references in the library. At least this will get me started on something.

Check these links. With a 1month subscription to DDI and a little patience with the parse tools you will find what you are looking for.
Dont be afraid to ask more questions.

If you're basically having a look around, activate the "Well Met in Kith'takharos" module (from Library module activate screen) in a 3.5e campaign. This is an adventure module that comes with Fantasy Grounds. Once you open the module, there will be a number of green tabs at the bottom of the story, images and maps, NPCs and items lists. Start by looking through the story entries in the first green tab in the "Story" list - follow some of the links from the entries and have an explore of the module.

This is a good example of how campaign data can be stored in Fantasy Grounds.

For those new to FG and want to get a 4E game going quickly or simply want to explore the ruleset, pop along to the FG RPGA Yahoo Group (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/RPGA_Group/files (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/RPGA_Group/files)) and join (email address registration required). Once registered and accepted to the group, visit the Files section. In Files you will find ZIP archives of the core 4E Player and DM supplements and modules (slightly out of date from an errata point of view) along with pretty much every LFR and RPGA adventure in FG module format.

Happy 4E gaming.

Just wanted to mention it would be very much worth you while to drop the ten and get a months subscription to DDI and use Valeros' parser to get the new data. The name of his tread still incorrectly calls it an item parser but it does everything now including monsters, classes and powers. Those RPGA modules, while functional are very, very old.

If you have any questions about using FG to run 4E feel free to ask me. I'm currently running two 4E campaigns and you are welcome to sit in and watch a session if you want.
