Trail of Cthulhu

6472My buddy and I are looking to start a Trail of Cthulhu (https://www.pelgranepress.com/site/?cat=10) campaign on FG and are looking for a few players to kick this off. Time would be 10pm to midnight on Friday (UTC -4 / USA Eastern time zone). It would be once or twice a month. Once we have enough players interested we can start talking about the details. Do you want more pulp or purist? Perhaps a mix of both? What about the adventure? I know I'd like to run Achtung! Cthulhu (https://www.modiphius.com/achtung-cthulhu.html) but they are a few other adventure modules out there that I think are really good.

Sounds good. I just installed Teamspeak this afternoon and I'll be there at 10. I also just purchased Fantasy Grounds 2 from Steam. Out of curiosity, should I look into buying any of the DLC's before they go off sale? I have downloaded the pdf for Trail of Cthulhu and was planning on reading through it later tonight or tomorrow.

So if you are going to run games as a GM you might want some DLC - but as a player you shouldnt need any...

There is no DLC for Trail of Cthulhu. This ruleset was created by a member of the community. It's a beautiful and functional ruleset. I tested it and didn't encounter any bugs. If you have TS, a mic/headset and the PDF, you're good to go, no further material or expenses needed. Everything else will be downloaded and cached to your client when you connect to me. However, if you plan on running games and some of the DLC appeals to you, then by all means go ahead and buy it but like I said, it wont be needed for this Trail of Cthulhu game. 2 hours long, but we're kinda looking for a commitment to the module which should run 6 or 7 more sessions. Is that ok with you?

Hi, I too have just bought Fantasy Grounds and would be keen to join in if you still have a space left. Like damned I aam based in Australia t the moment, so that time slot works for me. Will future sessions be at a similar time and day? I am 14 hours ahead of you, so most other times and days won't work.

The day and time is fix, we play every other Friday (Saturday for you) until the completion of the adventure. What happens after that I don't know. We'll cross the bridge when we get there. We played through the intro so it's not like you missed anything out. The proper investigation hasn't started yet. There's one PC left, it's a female parapsychologist, she's an expert in the occult, has a lot of empathy, can hypnotize people and likes to use these skills to scam people for quick money.
