I t would be really handy to be able to do this as fantasy grounds makes a fine character generator for several systems. A option to export to pdf would be good as an alternative

When I need a hardcopy of a character sheet (pretty rare but occasionally), I usually export characters from FG to XML and then apply an XSL stylesheet to format it into HTML. I then open and print from a standard web browser. Added bonus is you can then share the HTML files or host on a web site somewhere.
This way you can use XSL to create any output format you like.

And do you have your XSL available anywhere?

I have an XSL for use with 4E that I incorporated into my old FG campaign tools program. You can grab it from my website: https://www.drzeuss.co.uk/fantasy-grounds/utilities-tools/

This option would be useful if you wanted to use FGII as an aid to a "paper" game

Very useful for a Rolemaster game.
