A Pathfinder Society Scenario for characters of 1st to 5th level (Tier 1–5).

A Pathfinder leading a diplomatic envoy from the dwarven holds of the Five Kings Mountains has gone missing, and the balance of power in a time of war hangs on her rescue. The Pathfinder Society's divinations indicate the agent was waylaid in the theocratic nation of Razmiran, when one of her escorted diplomats failed to pay a requested tithe. Now it falls to the party to enter Razmiran, locate the missing Pathfinder and the dwarven diplomats, and escape with their lives.

Just as an FYI - the way I envisaged the pre chronicle working was that at the end of the scenario, the GM would create a template pre-chronicle that listed the in-tier and out-of-tier gold gained for the session, XP, PP and items available for purchase in a template pre-chronicle. Then make this template pre-chronicle available to the players. In theory this will mean that the player is not asking questions at the end of the game - How much gold do I get? What is available for purchase? etc..

The player could then add their chronicle #, starting XP, PP and Fame; starting gold, sales and purchases, day job roll etc.. Then all of the info, and auto calculations, are there for the GM to complete the end chronicle sheet quickly and easily... :)

The GM could have this template pre-chronicle ready to go before the sessions is played, but won't know until the the end of the session how much PP is actually gained and if any items were missed and/or less than max gold obtained.

Skellan
March 18th, 2014, 18:05
yeah, that's a good idea. The gm would have to post the info on the forum anyway. Perhaps the max gold box be changed to the season 5 one that has the out of subtier box and calculates the total? Perhaps rename it 'gold earned'? Or perhaps it could have a total gp deducted box which just takes this off the max gold totals and gives a figure for gold earned by subtier this scenario?

(and sorry to pull your thread off topic)

That actually makes sense! This is my first time, so I'm only doing it the way I've seen it done before...which was my first time...last Sunday. ;)

Start time is 11 am in the Eastern time zone.

To expand what Skellan said, if you purchased the Advanced Players Guide pack for Hero Labs, you should have it. One thing you may have to do is make sure that the Advanced Players Guide is selected (go to configure hero, then along the right side is a bunch of check boxes. Scroll until you see Advanced Players Guide and make sure it's checked. Then go to the "Classes" tab (far left), click the add level text (or whatever it is) then select alchemist from the list.

As far as the game goes, once you've built your character, output it to Fantasy Grounds, then post the file in this thread. Don't worry about chronicles or item tracking sheet because you don't have any yet. ;) Finally, don't forget to click the game calendar link in the first post of this thread and sign up there.

Oh, don't forget to pick out a picture that you want to use for your character portrait. Save a copy of that pic in your "Portraits" folder for Fantasy Grounds.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Have you tried selecting the Advanced Players Guide as instructed by hangarflying in post #13 above?

When you first load up Hero Labs the "Configure Your Hero" screen will appear - make sure you have selected "Advanced Player's Guide" as shown in the screenshot below. If this is greyed out, check the license information at the bottom of the screen to see what licenses you have.

It will also be a good idea to select "Pathfinder Society Organized Play Character" so that you are only given options that are PFS legal.

Press OK at the above window. Then go to "License" -> "Activate New License" and follow to prompts to activate your Hero Lab license.

Hey Hangar -

It's been a while since I last played PFS on FG. My last Chronicle Sheet from FG was from a while ago, so it's from before the ruling against form-fillable sheets being legal. Hope that's ok.

I also did a little bit of a rebuild on my character, so there's a few extra sales/purchases for prior to this scenario (#3 for this character.)

Let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to playing!

If you open herolab - at the top of the screen there's a button that says 'license'. click it and it will open up a drop down menu - click 'activate new license' on the drop down menu. Its the top one. It should take you through activating the stuff you bought from there.

bsktballchmp85, would you be inclined to play a 1st Level pregenerated character? There isn't a pregenerated alchemist, but you'd still be able to play without having to worry about all the headaches associated with building a character on such short notice. Also, the chronicle that you earn would be applied to your character that you build.

Character choices are:
barbarian
bard
cleric
druid
fighter
gunslinger
monk
ninja
paladin
ranger
rogue
samurai
sorcerer
wizard

You can find a .zip file of the pregenerated characters here: https://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/gmResources The link is located along the right side of the page. Let me know what you want to do.

They're listed in the game calendar (link in the first post of this thread), I don't recall what they are off the top of my head. Regardless, what's important is that you're playing the character that you want to play, not "what's needed to round out the party".

hangarflying
March 20th, 2014, 02:56
Actually, saving your character to Fantasy Grounds won't do anything (that I know of). I have to take the file you post on here and upload it to Fantasy Grounds on my side.

To post your file on here, select the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the text box. On the new page, there will be three rows of icons above the text box. On the top row, third button from the right, is an icon with a piece of paper with a paperclip. Click that button. In the new pop-up, select the location that the file is in, and click the "Upload" button. Once the file shows it is uploaded, close the pop-up, then submit your post normally.

Cakissis,

I got your character imported into FG. Just acouple of things: it appears as if you purchased studded leather and a light steel shield twice. Also, it doesn't seem as if you had your armor or shield selected before you exported it. It's no big deal, but didn't know if you wanted to fix those things and then re-upload your sheet.

Finally, if you want to "Save Custom Output" as a .hlfg file, that's ok too. If you do that, don't rename it as a .xml file.

bsktballchmp85
March 23rd, 2014, 22:05
ok can somebody go over the pre chronicle real quick this is my first time filling it out and I can do the name character name society numberand obviously this being my first mission I have 0 prior experience but once it hits the fame and prestiege im not sure what to do with that and where can I look to buy items that the society has gotten

hangarflying
March 23rd, 2014, 22:15
If you scroll to the second page of the prechronicle, it gives a list of the things that can be purchased with prestige points. So, basically, you have 2 prestige points to make a purchase. Or, you can hold on to them and save them for a later date. If you want to make any purchases, whether with PP or gold, just note it on the chronicle (for example, if you wanted to keep using a light crossbow). As Kavos and Fretgod were saying, often times, people will spend 2 PP to purchase a wand of Cure Light Wounds (or something else they may need) to give to other devine casters to cure them after a battle.

bsktballchmp85
March 23rd, 2014, 22:59
hey james I think I am finished with this I got the light crossbow and 10 bolts and I used the 2 pp to get that wand of cure light wounds. did we really only get 1 experience that mission? I was hoping more than that and also didn't we find some garnets and some coins in that drakes stash in the shore?

hangarflying
March 24th, 2014, 01:28
XP is different in PFS. You gain 1 XP per scenario, and it takes 3 XP to level up. All items, including the valuables that you found, are all rolled into the total gold that you receive for completing the adventure.

These are the faction boons for the Grand Lodge and Qadira factions, respectively.
