Hi. I am interested in building my own system for use on FG. I know this will probably be a daunting task, but I am wondering if anyone knows of any good resources or tutorials that explain how to go about this.
Or any experienced users who have done this in the past who might be willing to provide some assitance. Or possibly even build it for me for a charge. LOL.

Well, the easiest way is usually to take apart an existing system that is similar to the one you want to build and start making changes to it. There's a post on the wiki that breaks down the sections of a ruleset and explains, generally, how they're put together (Oberon maintains the wiki, iirc, and will probably come through with the link before I find it). There's also this post in the tavern about who is doing what rulesets for FG, currently, and what to do if you want to contribute:


You might also find that someone there is already working on the ruleset you want.

But, as has been mentioned above, depending on what game you want to develop starting with an existing ruleset that is close to your game might save you a lot of time.

Layering from CoreRPG saves a lot of time, and improves quality, and ease maintenance.

And there aren't much rulesets laying around, much less CoreRPG ones, unfortunately. It's good advice, but 90% of the time it's probably moot.
