Problems with wine and Kubuntu (linux)

Hi,

First excuse my english, I'm a French guy...

I tried to run FG on my computer using wine ( as it's described in the FAQ), however an error message appears when I run the soft:

" wine can intialize directX9 " or something like that.
Has-anybody encountered this problem?
Can U help me?:cry::D

DirectX needs to be installed with your Wine installation. I'm not a Linux/Mac user myself. Perhaps this link I found online might help?

Thanks for your answers , but despite the fact I fallowed this tutorial step by step, it doesn't work !

A moderator could move the thread to the appropriate forum, and someone using FG under Linux might be able to help.

However, this error seems straightforward. You need to have DirectX installed with your Wine setup. I'm sure there's a lot of guides and how-to about making that happens on the Wine and Ubuntu forums.

What you may want to do to make life easier for yourself is install winetricks (https://winetricks.org/winetricks) and then use Winetricks to install DirectX into your wine environment for Fantasy Grounds.
