I had a chat with Devin Knights and he updated the free token packs on his site, which have now less padding (making the token size bigger if you enable token scale to fit). Besides he renamed alot of the token more aproppriatly. For those of you wanting to update have a look at his site: immortalnights.com

OK, in light of some discussions in other threads. If I have a bunch of Devin's tokens in .png format, should I use gimp to export them to .jpg? and then Optimize them as Blacky suggests?

Keep them as .png files as you'll lose transparency if you turn them to .jpg files. However, you may want to look at the size (dimensions) of the tokens and if these are larger than you usually have for your 5 foot grid then reducing the token dimensions could be a good thing to do, it'll reduce memory use which would be worth doing if you have a lot of tokens in your \tokens folder.

Maybe shrinking to 100x100 px would be nice, but the SW I use will automatically make them loose transparency. Any recommended SW ?

I find Paint.NET (https://www.getpaint.net/) works well for anything I need.

Like Nickademus, I also use the free program Paint.NET for use with images with transparency. It's a "middle weight" art program I think is easier to use than GIMP but not as powerful as GIMP or Photoshop.
