View Full Version : FG translation strings commented out?

Is there a reason a lot of strings in /strings/strings_common.xml in CoreRPG are commented out?

It's mostly built-in FG features and tools.

I need to translate them for a foreign ruleset (layered from CoreRPG), and it seems to work but I prefer to be sure this is the file to do it.

Yeah, they are commented out because they are not necessary. However, I placed them there so that translators would be aware that FG does look for those string assets if they are available, and to provide translators with the text built into the FG client to start with.

A question: some text isn't in the strings file, for example the image toolbar. Like:

<tooltip>Eraser Mode</tooltip>

Which is in two different files; for example.

Is it normal?

Edit: I got another small questions about strings. For the life of me, I can't find the context for "counter_menu_clear" (displayed as “Clear”). Anyone knows where is it used?

The conversion of the rulesets to use string assets probably missed the image toolbar. I'll get in next pass.

The counter_menu_clear asset is used for any counters (i.e. only weapon ammo in 3.5E)
