Trenloe,
How do you manually enter an image for dice icons when creating a new weapon or gear item description? Can it be done from the module?

In the current release it's not implemented. In the DEV version you can use (S) to add a success symbol and (A) to add an advantage symbol in formatted text fields. Close the window and when you re-open it the (S) and (A) should have been replaced with the symbols. Version 2 of the ruleset will support all die result symbols.

Edited some characters that weren't used in the high ASCII code range of the regular font. Using Neil G Foster's very handy font editor: https://41fe5a1fc81e590f4e8940c19b657e9ea5d9a258.googledri ve.com/host/0B27SCDR38xFuNE96TGV4S1Jjdlk/fantasy-grounds-ii/fantasy-grounds-ii-font-editor.html

That is fantastic! I was trying to do something similar but by editing the TTF before converting to FG. It was so hard to understand, I gave up!
I can't wait for the update...

Thanks Trenloe for the great game Saturday...
I can only second that. And thanks for doing this ruleset - I can only imagine the kind of work that has gone into it.
Now i am contemplating running a game myself, but I am daunted by that crappy FFG policy not to have PDFs... aka having to input all pertinent information by hand.
Trenloe - do you have a strategy at hand for that? Can players in a session help with that (by having editable library entries, stuff like that)?
Do you have a list somewhere, what mechanics and features you have implemented, and what has possibly not entered the ruleset yet (your wishlist)?
I'd like to judge for myself, whether running a Star Wars game is feasible within my time constraints.

I'm currently trying to make use the data that comes in OggDude's character generator (and NPC/vehicle stuff). However I'm having difficulty getting a response from them - I've PM'd and emailed. So, if anyone reading this is in communication with OggDude please pass on that I'm trying to reach them to discuss the possibility of re-using their data and having closer ties with the FG ruleset and their character generator.
Note - if this happens it will still be restricted by copyright and will have game mechanics only, no descriptive text. In place of the text will be statements such as "Refer to page 215 of the EotE rulebook".

I'll rephrase my question: In your experience, what makes sense entering into the system (skills, combat rules, talents, skill trees, etc.)? For example: What did you enter to run your own games? What do you use most?

I entered everything from the character sheet. Example, this is the character you played: https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/30/d3/30d368ce-4edb-48bc-bc9b-f3c082cedbda/grabow_lores.pdf
I don't enter skill descriptions.

You should be able to load up the game (campaign) from FG Con via Manage Characters and have a look at the info I entered for Grabow. Weapons and items are straight from the library, everything else is manually entered.

Nice one.
One of the things you might want to do is scan in the spending threat and despair in combat tables to share with the players (as an image) during the game. Most other things can pretty much be on the character sheet.

Like that table on page 206/207 EotE?
Yes, I'll have a look at that.
Looks like the pond is full of fish - there is a lot of biting going on to join the session ;-).

I know v2 is being worked on, and I'm not sure if this has been mentioned/solved in the thread (quite a few pages now), but I'm having an issue where I can't reduce some players wounds/strain back down to zero, so they permanently have strain in their char sheets. Anything you know of that I can do to fix that?

This is a hangover from the original WFRP3 ruleset. Wounds and strain can't go lower than the current number of criticals. This is fixed in v2 (last line of post #1).

Should I be able to add/show tokens/icons in the Character Selection box? Here is what I have, but I can't seem to add any images into the big black circle nor the little black one in the bottom corner. I have tried dragging/dropping token images, but doesn't do anything. Below is the screenshot:

The GM doesn't add portraits the players do.
To add a token, open up the actual character sheet and drag the token to the empty token space in the top right corner.
The little black icon in the bottom corner isn't a space for an image, it's a link for dragging the PC entry (usually to the combat tracker for unclaimed PCs).
I'd also recommend you use the v2 ruleset found here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?24151-Star-Wars-Edge-of-the-Empire-Age-of-Rebellion-Force-and-Destiny-v2-ruleset

So I downloaded the module, don't actually own any of the Star Wars rulebooks, etc. But I see that certain things like character classes is left out as well as the section on vehicles, and probably a whole heap of other stuff.
Since I was looking forward to GMing this, is there any way to really play this ruleset cause it seems the vitals for actually playing are left out.

Xydonus,
1) Make sure you are downloading V2 of the ruleset that Trenloe released. It includes Vehicles, etc.
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?24151-Star-Wars-Edge-of-the-Empire-Age-of-Rebellion-Force-and-Destiny-v2-ruleset
2) Additionally, there is a Player Module that he created that has a lot of the weapons, etc. Make sure you download that.
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?24150-Star-Wars-Edge-of-the-Empire-Library-modules
3) If you don't actually own any of the books, it is going to be hard to GM Star Wars. The RPG is protected by a very strong copyright from Lucasfilm and Disney. They are not fans of digital books or content. It is the reason that there are no legal PDFs to purchase of the rules. In order to comply with the copyright laws, the community is able to create the "framework" of the ruleset in order to roll dice, record information, character sheets, etc. But entering the information is up to you and the players. This is the case with any ruleset created for FG that is not open license or an officially licensed ruleset. It is the only way to protect the publisher's IP and Smiteworks' liability.

Lobosolo

Yeah that's understandable.
And odd... Don't have any vehicle list. The Star Wars Weapons/Vehicle table for example only contains vehicle weapons, not the ships themselves.

A community member actually made a vehicles module and put it in the forum for the V2 ruleset. You should be able to find it there.

Use the V2 ruleset - there's a separate button on the right of the desktop specifically for vehicles. The v1 ruleset in this thread doesn't have any place to store vehicle information.
Even with the base community modules you're going to have to enter some information yourself - due to the copyright restrictions that Lobosolo mentions above, and the fact that we are still in the process of putting base statistics only (no descriptive text) modules together. Even with those modules, you'll need to reference the rulebooks to get the details that we can't include due to copyright.
But, this ruleset is completely 100% playable - see the video linked in post #1 of this thread for an example session using v1 of the ruleset and a video OTG_Wraith put together a video of the Fringers session from FG Con VI using the v2 ruleset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpAnb8EAz4Y&list=PLBW-SmHnjnPE7sCNsK6UGMDxOFMM4dky4&index=1

I'm using v2. And I'm aware of the vehicle list button on the right, but wasn't sure if starships/vehicle stats were actually stored in the ruleset/library/module other than the weapons for them.

As Lobosolo said...
There is a second module, created by a community member by reading the books that he bought to support the game and learn how to play. He and his group spent many hours using the v2 ruleset to create entries for all of the vehicles.
It is posted on the thread about the v2 ruleset.
If you do use it, don't forget to thank them (and Trenloe) for their hard work. This is a fantastic ruleset, we've been using it regularly for a while now and not had any real problems.

The next release of the ruleset will have more support for force rating and committing force dice.
In the meantime, Force rating can be tracked as a ranked talent and force powers as talents. The following is an example of Dao from the F&D beginner box, #1 shows the force rating and power base entries and #2 shows more info about the force powers:

It's not "officially" supported by SmiteWorks as it is a community ruleset. However, Smiteworks do work closely with community developers and will frequently provide fixes for issues that affect community product material.
The ruleset is free, well supported (by me, Lobosolo and Miekael) and works well. See the video links in the first post of the v2 ruleset thread: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?24151-Star-Wars-Edge-of-the-Empire-Age-of-Rebellion-Force-and-Destiny-v2-ruleset
