I wanted to just grab a set of map and tokens to makes things a bit easier trying to get some adventures together as a GM. I plan on using at least a couple pre-made adventures to get my feet wet.

Would these be a couple good packs/bundles to start off with?

Just a FYI there are tokens that come with FG - they are in modules you can activate.

The floor plans bundle should be good value - I like DramaScape's work.

I don't know about the modern tokens - perhaps someone who had them might comment.

The tokens that come with FG are more Fantasy Oriented so this big collection of d20 modern tokens may work for you. I suggest you check out the preview images in other Fiery Dragon token products - Claudio Pozas's style may not be what you're looking for.

I picked up the d20 token pack and although I am ok with spending $9 on the pack the description is a little misleading, which was sort of disappointing. I was under the impression that they would mostly be unique. There are duplicates of just about every one of the tokens. Then there are tokens in the pack that have 9 duplicates with the same image/border/size/format and just a name change, I really don't understand why that is but I feel a little jipped.

The Fiery Dragon token packs are all digital conversions of print token/paper mini products. The print product is OK to contain duplicates as you might need the extras. But, you're right, for a digital token pack there is no need to have duplicates and/or name changes. The description is probably taken directly from the original print product too, which can be misleading as to what exactly you get when converted to a digital pack.

I think the tokens in the token packs currently come in a range of sizes to denote different size creatures.

Some of the token packs are sold on behalf of artists, so the price may be set by someone else.

Please send us a note at [email protected] about the issues with the description, so Doug can address.

Thanks,

Sent the email. The DramaScape Maps are quite well done and turned out to be exactly what I needed. Nice feature on DriveThruRpg is that you can preview the products you are about to purchase. This might be a good idea for FG to do with it's products.

Appreciate the input.

I don't think anyone has clarified that the token packs, often have all the tokens in various sizes. Its not only for different sized variants, this is because there isn't a standard token size for FG so its hoped that by having the tokens in different sizes you won't have to resize them yourself. I don't have that pack myself but I do use the fantasy ones from Fiery Dragon.

Most of the duplicates are actually of the same size. There are actually many tokens that are identical except for a change in the color of the border. There are many duplicates that are the exact same size/image/format/border and just a name change (as I said before). Furthermore, very very few of the tokens deviate from 70x70. There is 11 tokens that are 53x53, 3 that are 45x45, 12 that are 140x140, and 5 that are 210x210. So 31 of those tokens + the 156 portraits that are 63x63 out of a total advertised 800 tokens/portraits. 613 of the tokens are the same size with the majority having an exact duplicate except for the border and some up to 9 duplicates except the name. The only ones that are not duplicated are the 31 of various sizes. Over 50% of the pack is pretty much duplicated items. I have to say the more I think about it the more I am displeased.

There is one type of token in the pack of a robot that has 27 of the same image/size, the name is only deviated by a number at the end of the name on 3 different sets of 9 and each of those sets of 9 has just a deviation in the color of the border. 27 items pretty much the same.
