broken character advice please

hiya, several of the boxes on my character have a tiny cross in the upper right corner..... over the last couple of weeks various numbers have turned up replacing those crosses. and im wondering if anyone can please tell me how to remove or reset those variables.

Hover the mouse over these and use CTRL+Mouse-Wheel to change the values. If holding the CTRL key and moving the mouse-wheel doesn't change the values try just the mouse-wheel. If just the mouse-wheel changes the value/bonus without pressing CTRL, ask your GM to change the campaign option "Mouse: Wheel Editing" to "Ctrl" , so that the chance of a random mouse-wheel changing a field is reduced.

These fields are there to allow a temporary modifier to be added which remains visible so that the player and GM know that a modifier has been applied and how much the modifier is. With the advent of effects this functionality is used less than it used to...
