Greetings ladies and gentlemen; it's been awhile since I hung around here but I'm feeling the pen and paper RPG itch again so I thought I'd give fantasy grounds another shot. I'm looking for a group of peoples to play some games with. I have plenty of experience with multiple systems and though my preferred systems are Pathfinder, 3.5, 4e, Savage Worlds and the nWoD systems I'm always up for trying new things so don't let that stop you.

I am located in Australia (GMT+10/11) but due to an extremely flexible personal situation at the moment and for the forseeable future I can actually meet literally any time because I can just be asleep or awake whenever I want.

So; anyone out there need an extra player or GM? Yes? No? Maybe? If you have any questions feel free to ask.

How about Castles and Crusades?

PM if interested (there is a recruitment thread in the appropriate section).

Wasn't sure if you're new to FG and just saying hi to the community or if you're an experienced FG player announcing his interest in joining a group? :)

I'm an experienced FG player and GM, I know my way around the program pretty well though I'm probably a little rusty due to not having used it in several months.

I'm not familiar with Castles and Crusades; I shall do some research on it and see if it interests me.

pathfinder / 3.5 Forgotten Realms play would be awesome. got 2 players here looking for non PFS type Pathfinder play. so 2 votes for the above.

Seems like there's a dearth of GM's around and an excess of players who want to play PF or 3.5. Might have to look into running a prebuilt adventure or something.

Yeah that's the thing DM'ing keeps you so darn busy it's hard to run a game :( ... I agree, pre-written modules are your friend in these cases ;) .. though you have to be careful too I had one player get really upset at the amount of railroading such modules invariably entail (I dunno, maybe warn the players in advance " hey pre-written module there might be railroading?" :P .. unless one is the kind of GM who can think quickly on his/her feet and make up stuff on the fly when the players - inevitably - go off the "path" the writers of the module have described for the characters...)..

I'm very much a 'make things up on the fly' kind of GM so prewritten stuff, either by myself or someone else, is absolutely essential to maintain any kind of over-arching plotline. Fortunately that also means that the weakness of prewritten stuff isn't an issue for me because I'm fine with going off the rails for a bit.

There's quite a lot of adventures and modules written for pathfinder, anyone got any ideas or suggestions on good ones?

It all depends what you're looking for. Are you looking to start running a long campaign? If so, most of the Paizo adventure paths are very good (although some are rail-roady): https://paizo.com/pathfinder/adventurePath Kingmaker is more of a sandbox environment (with kingdom building), Curse of the Crimson Throne is (IMHO) one of the best and is urban based so it is easy to add in exrta things, Rise of the Runelords is also an excellent AP.

A recommendation: Adventureaweek.com has a lot of 1-2 session adventures available - with a lot of them set in their Viking-esque setting that make a campaign: https://adventureaweek.com/ These are good scenarios and what is great is that there is a team of developers working to convert these to Fantasy Grounds ready-to-run modules. There are currently 4 modules available now, but more are being converted as we speak: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/?search=&sys=9&pub=22&typ=-1&x=3&y=16&sort=1 I'd recommend having a look at these modules and the adventureaweek.com setting. The series guide gives a good idea of how they all hang together: https://adventureaweek.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/AaW-Series-Guide.pdf

Pathfinder is the flavour of the month (year?) at the moment so you will be able to find lots and lots and lots of adventures out there. Of course, the difficulty is working out which ones are good and will work for you..

I really like Open Design's Midgard setting: https://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?cPath=4291_19172 If you want urban adventures then Zobeck is a great city to adventure in - there are quite a few products for Zobeck. If you want more dark, eastern european mythology based adventures then the excellent Tales of the Old Margreve" is hard to beat: https://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/84266/Tales-of-the-Old-Margreve-%28PFRPG%29?cPath=4291_19172 Or for general adventuring in Midgard the Midgard Tales adventure anthology is good too: https://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/117196/Midgard-Tales-%28Pathfinder-RPG%29?cPath=4291_19172

Frog God Games do a lot of more old school based scenarios: https://www.talesofthefroggod.com/ With the exception of their recently released Razor Coast: https://www.talesofthefroggod.com/rc-pg.html which is an amazing sand-box setting with early encounters deliberately designed to determine the player's goals/allegiances and so set the scene for the 2 underlying major stories and a lot of the minor stories.

Another good urban based setting is 0one Games "The Great City" with a complete campaign and also their episodic "The Sinking" series: https://0onegames.com/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=1

Or, if you want to try something different and run an evil campaign (the PCs are essentially Lawful Evil so they work together (ish) towards their evil mentor's goals), try the acclaimed Way of the Wicked: https://www.firemountaingames.com/products.html

Hey Neruz I'd be interested in joining you for D&D 4e or Pathfinder if you want. Active and open to most time zones. I was wanting to do The Godsmouth Heresy. It looked fun. 1st level adventure maybe look it up.
