mods can move this if its not in a good place. i wanted to make this thread for posting ideas for fantasy rpg games. my favorite is any D&D. use these ideas in campaigns, adventures, settings, encounters, adventure hooks, situations or seeds or whatever. feel free to add yours. some might have been seen before but its not bad to refresh those ideas. just add to the list even if the ideas are partial. ideas here are not for rating good/bad they are just ideas. take them or leave them.

a desert full of crashing waves of sand. similar to a stormy sea but its a desert doing the same thing a stormy sea would do.

a purple dragon whose breath weapon spews out clouds of black magic. the billowing clouds of black magic have black magic symbol particles inside too.

an orange dragon whose breath weapon is a pure beam of ultra violet sunlight.

a necromancer giant who has raised giant zombies and giant skeletons.

gold so pure you can see through it like glass. (i got that from the Christian Bible)

two powerful psionicists are having a war against each other. the battlefield happens to be in your mind.

you must figure a way of making the sun not set or the world will be destroyed by an evil god.

a powerful new source for weapons/armor/magic has fallen from the sky. its called Star Metal. (similar in thought to the Red Steel AD&D campaign)

a dragon made of pure living lightning.

a captured lightning bolt used as a weapon.

you see a castle a great distance away on a cliffside. you cant miss the giant spider that is covering most of it.

the sword in the sky

a magic hammer that when it hits a person it turns that person into a pile of gold coins.

the star warrior is said to have fallen from the sky and now rules the north.

to kill is to live in this city.

1 on an attack roll on a d20 is the worst roll you can get. if you roll a 1 your weapon should break and you take the rolled weapon damage. if your weapon is a +1 weapon then you can roll two 1s before it breaks. if your weapon is a +2 weapon then you can roll three 1s before it breaks and so on. the rolls of 1s should be kept track of by the Dungeon Master. if the weapon is repaired then the quality is restored until the next 1 is rolled.

The Temple of Death. a place so deadly that every round all players must roll vs a death save.

Unless there is a way to negate this, expect for a short and sad gaming session. Also monotonous, seen the abuse of one particular or one set of similar abilities repeatedly used in 4e makes for a bad and boring fight usually.

Not sure about 3.5, but Pathfinder has Fragile and other conditions which gets effect items.

sounds cool, I think I shall use it

What?

Poor bastard, that battlefield won't last long.

a magic hammer that when it hits a person it turns that person into a pile of gold coins.
OP, wouldn't want to fight someone with that. Another short and sad session probably.

lol they are just ideas. any good dm can take them and make them work. for the temple of death it wouldnt matter if you were an undead it wouldnt kill you. or for the temple of death maybe you need to aquire certain items before you enter to prevent you from dying.

the pscion mind battle would need the dm to provide a solution.

just because the dm tells the players theres a hammer that turns people into gold coins doesnt mean they will ever find it.

put some ideas here too.

we are like demons in battle we dont know how to surrender.

we live to see all that we can before death robs us of the chance.
