So who is waiting anxiously for Aug 1st when Numenera pdfs are supposed to be available?

Me too. Thinking about running a Numenara campaign for my group, since we just finished our Pathfinder campaign. Waiting for the books, before I hack together a basic Numenara ruleset.

I'll be starting a Numenera game in September, taking our Sunday night slot after the August holiday break. Just finishing up our The One Ring campaign, at least for now. I'm planning on using the generic ruleset. Are there any plans/discussion for a n official one?

No official plans yet, but I plan to hit up Monte Cook at Gencon to see if he would be open to an official ruleset and/or adventures.

Hmmm so I have the PDF shame it will not download from RPG site, just hangs creating watermark, the ultimate cruelty.

I haven't even gotten e-mail yet, so you're ahead of me. ;)

Apparently, I opted out of e-mail from publishers on DriveThruRPG a while ago, which explains why I didn't get me Numenera link today. Which is weird, since I got the Numenera fiction PDF notice from DTRPG.

I just got my new link after having to request another one.
It works! 417 pages of Ninth World goodness, and a very nice map. The layout of the book is very similar to Monte's Ptolus campaign book (which I still intend to run someday).

Core book downloading right now, map just makes me 'ooh-ing' and 'aww-ing'. Have you seen the kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mapmaker/numenera-poster-maps-of-the-ninth-world?ref=users)for big awesome maps?

I had to do the same thing, but I just got my link!

Same happened to me. As I'm in the UK, that probably means I won't get to download until Saturday. Not sure why we need to activate the direct marketing options. I get all the official DTRPG emails.

Had the download link fairly quickly after sending an email to the reissue address.

I'm in the UK and have had mine for two days now. Its very good my only grumble is that they have put pdf bookmarks and they missed out my name in the list of backers! Still I have now found a copy with bookmarks which makes reading it a bit easier

There's a comment (within update #65) from a Monte Cook assistant on the kickstarter that there will be an update to the PDF to include bookmarks.

I'm looking to join a Numenera campaign if any of you are going to GM. I could possibly grab some other players too if anyone wants to get this together.

Anyone considering an FG2 online campaign for this brilliant game?

If I only had the time, I would. I am liking the setting and wish I was in an area that had a decent group of people to game with so I could try it out..

Nothing official, though I have barely started on a Numenera ruleset. Might make some more progress once next v3.0 alpha cycle complete.
Cheers,

JPG ... I've done a Numenera sheet (character / npc / combat tracker) based on Joshuha and PhantomWhale's Foundation Core. I haven't tried converting it to 3.0 yet, but I'm hoping that the conversion won't be too onerous. Would be good to get an official set with libraries (I'm looking to create library modules for my own use to use with it).

Valarian, thanks for the sample code.
I ended up pushing through and finishing the one I started that is built on top of the v3.0 ruleset layering system.
This dev version of the Numenera ruleset will automatically download when you perform a v3.0 alpha update.

It will only work with the alpha version which is in testing in the Laboratory forum, and will download automatically when you update to this version. As noted in the alpha testing notes, please backup you FG campaigns directory because it also includes updates to multiple rule sets which are not backward compatible with v2.9.4 which means your campaigns will be going through a one-way upgrade for any of those rule sets (3.5E, 4E, PFRPG, CoC, C&C).
Also, your players will have to use the same version, though they don't need to worry about the data migration unless they also GM.

im so excited every time i see C&C being mentioned here - hopefully this will help grow the size of the C&C/FG community :)

So I download the alpha version from the Laboratory forum and install it? What if I already have the regular version of FG II installed also?

The V3.0 alpha test package will overwrite the current live 2.9.4 system in terms of the FG executables, 3.0 rulesets, 3.0 modules and 3.0 extensions. You'll need to make a backup of your complete FG app data folder before you do this so that you can "roll back" to 2.9.4if needed - and also in case your campaigns don't migrate properly into 3.0.
