I have some ideas on how this goes, but I would like some other opinions as well. I want to know what information about Pathfinder (or any OGL ruleset really) can I put in a library and distribute. The better question though, is what can I NOT distribute. I'm talking information, not maps or images.

I assume everything on Paizo's own PRD (https://paizo.com/prd/) is legal to distribute. But that only seems to cover the CRB, APG, UM, UC and parts of the Bestiary. Other books aren't there but there is content from them on the SRD (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/home). So where is the line?

Apparently, these images are also legal for Community Use. Since I've seen the disclaimer on this site and in the modules, I assume you guys already knew that...

In general the rules are open content, while names and setting specific material etc. are not. d20pfsrd.com uses the OGL, while the pathfinderwiki uses the CUP. Each Pathfinder book describes what is considered open content and what is not.

There are quite a few modules already in this thread https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?16074-List-of-Modules thus depending on what you want to share you may not need to recreate it.

Regarding the PRD, paizo only puts rules from the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game line (i.e. hardcovers except Inner Sea guide and RotRL AE) there. Rules from the other splat books eventually make their way to d20pfsrd.com, but are not put on the PRD even though they have open content.

This is my understanding of it, but not sure if it helps. ^^

The book I find myself referencing quite often is Inner Sea Magic. Which isn't in the PRD I imagine because it is full of specific names of people and places in Golarion. Will keep this in mind.

I have no desire to distribute a library or mod that would get Fantasy Grounds in trouble.

If it's only for your personal use then there's definitely no harm in creating a module right away. If you want to make it public it is better follow the OGL and/or the CUP, depending on the what information you want to include.

I think you've got the gist of it from what you have mentioned above. You have the OGL and the Community Use Policy (CUP).

The OGL primarily covers what is published in Paizo's PRD and other rules items - primarily statblocks, feats, spells, etc.. No names, locations etc. are covered by the OGL.

This is where the CUP comes in: "You may descriptively reference trademarks, proper names (characters, deities, artifacts, places, etc.), locations and characters from products listed in Section 1 of our Community Use Approved Product List at paizo.com/communityuse/products, provided it is clear that these are our marks." But, this is just covering the names, not any other content - so you can't copy/paste sections from Paizo books. You also need to follow the CUP guidelines if you do use names, locations, etc..
