I am new to using Fantasy Grounds (but an old hand at 3.x / Pathfinder). Some friends and I decided to use Fantasy Grounds to help improve our gaming experience. The past two weeks we have run a mock adventure to get the hang of the Fantasy Grounds software. Doing things like running lots of combat, gaining equipment, making rolls, working with the map, you get the idea. Once we have a good handle on how the software works, we intend to use it for a real campaign. We are currently using the Pathfinder Ruleset.
During our testing, we have come across some issues that I hope the community can help us answer.
Locking Character Sheets - One of our players is young (and not super mature) and he is forever 'updating' his sheet with gear that he has not earned. Small things like: 3 Rations become 5, Hemp Rope becomes Silk, 20gp becomes 30gp. etc.) Is it possible to prevent changes to character sheets without GM approval?
Magic Weapons - During our last encounter, the players needed a +1 or better weapon to hit the monster. Even once we 'upgraded' our rogue's dagger to a +2 weapon on her character sheet (and in the 'actions' tab), the monster still enjoyed it's DR 5/+1. Is there a flag or something that we need to set to designate that a weapon is magic?
Casting from a Wand - The players found a Wand of Cure Light Wounds. Is there something needed to enable the wielding player to cast Cure Light Wounds from the wand in the same manner that our cleric can cast it from her spells? (i.e. target a player, click a button, and the ruleset auto-rolls, and applies the healing to the targeted character).
Druid Companion Animals - Our druid has a companion animal. Should we be using another character sheet to track the animal's attacks, HP, etc. or is there a way to add this stuff to the druid's sheet? How do most folks handle this in their games?
Thank you for you time and help with these issues. We very much look forward to being able to use Fantasy Grounds for our gaming.
