I dled the demo FGII and have been playing about with it- running through the various video help files, so far so good- until.
I tried to play out a combat encounter in the 4e campaign, everything works until I tried rolling damage when I got the following error-
Script Error: [string "scripts/manager_string.lua"]:335: attempt to compare number with string
I'm following (FGP13) Combat tracker/How attacks work in FG2 video on youtube- double click on the attack and it rolls to hit against my selected enemy- double click on the damage expression and the error pops up.
I also worked out how to use the 4e DDI PC converter and importer, only it doesn't import, I get the following error-
Script Error: [string "charsheet/scripts/manager_char.lua"]:9: import: Only available on licensed host.
Which I guess is because I don't have a license but I didn't see this caveat in the demo write up. I'd love to get aboard with FGII but at the moment it seems to be a pretty steep learning curve. I've been using Maptools for the past 5 years, and writing my own (simple) macros. I love the idea of FGII because it can organise my campaigns a bit better for me (I have 4-5 campaigns/groups on the go- although some play very infrequently), and I really (really) like the idea that it'll take some of the strain off by doing some of the maths/condition tracking et al for me.
I'd love to get this to work.
Any help gratefully accepted.
Cheers PDR
