Tokens scale wrong after setting up encounter

I've set up encounters and dragged the tokens onto the map. I've had to scale down the tokens size to fit into the grid but everything looks OK before I close the encounter.
However when I open the encounter and use the button to add to the combat tracker so they appear back on the map all the tokens appear really large again and not scaled down to the grid as I left them.
Am I doing something wrong?

Individual token scaling is not saved in encounters.

As Macgreine says - you can use token scaling (which is saved on the map, not the encounter), but this is really only useful if all of your tokens are about the same size.

As mentioned above, you have to lock the token scale. Also, when setting the token scale you have to zoom the MAP not the token and then right click the token and lock scale. Then after that each token you place will be on the same scale.

I resized all of my tokens with Fastone Photo Resizer for this very reason.
