I think Trenloe wrote an extension a while back, but I could be wrong.

It was Blackfoot who wrote it - for the 3.5e ruleset.

Do you know if it gives access to the character sheets and all?

It's available on the forum somewhere - I can't search at the moment.

I believe it gives access to the NPC sheet.

If you want to give your player access to a dog, you can make an item that has a link to the dog npc in the description area, and you have shared the dog with the player. I think you need to have the dog in the NPC list for the campaign.

I hope this helps.

Added to the extensions sticky so it doesn't get lost again.

Nice workaround Honken, unfortunately said dog won't be on the combat tracker nor will the player be able to use targeting mechanics.

Still, nice workaround for non-combat uses

Well, you as the GM have to put the dog into the Combat Tracker, but once there, you can use the for combat stuff. The player using the dog can drag and drop the "attack roll" on whoever he wants to attack with the dog.
