Hi there.

I'm the GM of two games that I record weekly and put on youtube. I have been doing them with Goons from the Something Awful forums.

The Rogue Trader game is 28 sessions in,

The thread for this, with some background is here.

The Dungeons and Dragons is two sessions old, with the third one being recorded tonight.

Hopefully some of you find these interesting.

Please, for the love of god don't ask me what program I'm using, I get one of those a week. and you lot should know.

Nice videos, always nice to see how other people are using the program.

One tip for you, instead of dragging dice rolls over character portraits in combat I suggest using targeting. Your players are of course already (mostly) using targeting because they have no choice. For the DM we can drag the roll onto a portrait if we choose to.

However, using the targeting system offers several advantages I have found.

It makes it much easier and faster to run combat with multiple enemies (like the white dragon encounter you were running). By having a particular enemy target a particular character it makes their turn run very smooth and quickly.

The second thing is I recommend is doing attacks and damage pretty much right from the combat tracker. This makes the npc combat rounds move along faster and also abilities that recharge will not roll for recharge if you click them from the monster stat block and not the combat tracker.

I essentially run combats almost entirely from the combat tracker, using it to have the npc's target the characters and then doing attacks/dmg from it.

As always, with FG there are many paths to the same goal and if your system works for you go for it! Just thought I'd put my 2cents in =)

Either way thanks for sharing!

Edit: I forgot to mention that in 4e the effects you usually need to apply using the stat block and not the combat tracker so using the combat tracker does not totally obviate the need for the stat blocks to be accessible. There is a .mod file for all of the 4e conditions located a few threads down in the 4e forums if you care to use it, I find it to be invaluable personally since effects/conditions are such a big part of 4e.

My comments apply only to the 4e stuff as I don't know anything at all about distant worlds, when I watched some of that video it was all Greek to me =)
