Hello, wanting to start a 4E campaign/adventures with my 2 teens and their friends using FGII and skype. What adventures and/or campaign path would you recommend I start with? Something that would be easy to convert to FGII. I have a large collection of physical manuals and can scan anything i need. thanks.

I'd consider starting with the demo that's included, Tale of Danoor (or however it's spelled). Or go with something that's already been converted - H1-H2-H3, converted to 4e, is readily available in PDF (and FG, for that matter) and is a pretty good starter sequence, imo. Or there's always the Giants sequence.

My $.02 :D

Thanks. I appreciate it. I will look at H1,H2,and H3... I was going to convert a lvl1 adventure from one of my dungeon mags to try it out. :) thanks.

For kids, short adventures might be best. You might consider converting some RPGA modules since they usually have 3-4 encounters and a skill challenge. I'd personally just have the kids role-play the skill challenge depending on their ages. Here's a link to a site where you can download the adventures: https://www.livingforgottenrealms.com/

Ohh.. I have some of those... :) Maybe by adding some maps to them i can make use of them. The kids i'll be playing with are 12-17. :)

The cartographer's guild website has some amazing maps for free download.

Someone above mentioned H1: Keep on Shadowfell, someone on cartographer's guild created a big map for that adventure perfect for virtual tabletop or printing.

Ah, older than I was thinking - somehow I missed they were teens. :p The problem with RPGA modules is the monsters aren't in DDI anymore. You also might consider getting the Dungeon Delve book, it should be pretty cheap on Amazon. It has Delve adventures from 1-30 and all the monsters are in DDI and you can download the maps as well. The only problem with the book is it is a pre-MM3 book so the monsters in the delves after 10th level or so are under-powered. I've personally played in and/or run the first 11 adventures and they were pretty fun.

You can get the latest revision of H1 off the WotC's site here if you don't have it already: https://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/h1.pdf

Thanks. Where do I find the monsters for RPGA stuff? I'll look into the dungeon delve book too. Thanks.

Sadly the RPGA stuff is no longer in the DDI data base. When WotC stopped running the RPGA they took all the monsters out. However, while WotC did run the RPGA they generally would not let the adventure authors create monsters from scratch, because they didn't want the monster balance checking hassles. This is a long winded way of saying that most of the early RPGA monsters are normally re-named and sometimes up-leveled or down leveled versions of standard monsters. A lot of times if you have DDI you can just search on the name of one of the monster's unique powers to find the base monster.

WotC only released one Dungeon Delve book with 30 encounters 1 for each level. A delve length adventure is usually gives about enough XP for gaining 1/2 a level. The adventures in the Dungeon Delve book are like that. The RPGA adventures are delve length but the encounters are typically a level lower than the DMG recommends so it usually takes 3 to gain enough XP to level with them or about 5 scenarios for 2 levels.

I'm pretty sure the PDF I linked to is a better version of H1. Its been slightly revised from the paper version. I ran H1 three or four times, and they tweaked some of the more problematic encounters in the revision.

If you want short adventures look a the Chaos Scar adventures that were released in Dungeon (DDI) a while back:

https://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/duad/chaosscar

I was involved with a group that ran these as single session in-store games and they work well for that. You may want to add some background to flesh these out a little - we set the Chaos Scar in the Nentir Vale - Ogrefist Hills to the west of Fallcrest (where the PCs were based).
