Just discovered FG and quite interested. I've downloaded the demo and am currently in the 'I have no idea what I'm doing stage', but I do know to watch the tutorial videos so I have hopes of figuring this out.

While I realize the point of FG is to connect players and GMs across time zones for internet play, I'm wondering if FG can be used for solo play without the internet? Lacking other players, I have occasionally donned my schizophrenia hat and done this with simple scenarios. Using FG as a 'game assistance programs' for solo play would seem a good way to learn the system as I have read that without a connection to a player with a Full version, there is little to be done with a demo version.

Slight correction: it's the Ultimate version that allows a GM to accept players using a Demo version.

The direct answer to your question is here: DM Connecting to self to play as PC (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18563)

But there's also the possibility that several GMs here in the community frequently offer to show new users the ins and outs of the various rulesets. Read through the forums - there are lots of threads with helpful GMs with Ultimate licenses. Or pop into the Online Chat link on the Home page and ask around. I did one night and got a two-hour tutorial on the spot. (Of course, your luck may vary.)

That all said, there is a more aggressive treatment for your condition (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/?page=2&typ=3&sort=1&search=one%20on%20one) that only requires small amounts of medicine.

You have couple more options than solo play too.

There are ultimate license holders, and most have a badge of some kind in there signiture, such as myself, so you can keep an eye out for them.

Second if you want to try out stuff, there is a list of GMs that will run demos as well.
