Stupid question I know, but it's the first time I've encountered this.

The whisper syntax is : /w name message, space being the delimiter for the message.

What if a name has one or several spaces in them?

In other word, how to whisper someone name “John Doe” for example?

If you type the name correctly, it doesn't matter that there is a space, it will find the PC to send the whisper to. At least it does in the 3.5E ruleset I've just tested.

A quick way is to type a few letters of the name and then hit <TAB> and it will auto complete. e.g. /w john <TAB> will auto complete the name and then continue typing the whisper.

Or, write the message in the chat line (without the /w) and drag the message to the player portrait.

It's a ruleset script?

Doesn't work in the one I have, autocomplete work, whipser to a name without whitespace works, but not whisper to a whitespaced player.

Yep, it's in manager_oob.lua in 3.5E. What ruleset are you using?

Warhammer v2. I'll investigate this, it may be the opportunity to implement player to player whispers.

Solved.

For archive purpose, if anyone has the same issue with a non D&D old ruleset, check this thread: www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8307 and the modification on second page. Everything is there.
