I am wondering if there is an app that is available that functions on droid phones.

Not at the moment. Lots of discussion about tablet apps in the potential kickstarter thread: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16443

Thanks for the info. Are there many different avenues of actually playing nWod games online?

I'm not sure what other VTTs (Virtual Table Tops) directly support nWoD. Fantasy Grounds does have a community based ruleset for nWoD and most of the flavours.

It depends what you want from your VTT and how much automation. Some people find they can play online games fine with something like Google Hangouts or Skype - with such an approach you aren't using a VTT so it relies on the players manually rolling dice and being honest or using an internet dice rolling application (there are a few out there) and then the GM and players communicate as normal via voice chat and play their games.

VTTs add more functionality to playing games online - simulating the "table" used for face-to-face roleplaying. Fantasy Grounds does this well, replicating the face-to-face experience with proper character sheets, dynamic 3D dice rolling, image/map sharing, tokens (minis on the map), combat tracker, etc.. Then you can simply pick if you want to use text chat (typing in Fantasy Grounds) or your voice client of choice - we even have a community TeamSpeak server for voice based games.
