Not quite sure if this is the correct forum for this but here goes.
In the store there are 10 gaming token packs. Are there any screenshots and lists of what you actually get?
I want to compare to the counter collection 4E packs to which are best suited to my needs.
Also are there complete packs available rather than having to buy the individual sets?

Have you noticed there are many more? You'r just looking at the first page... Look in the buttom of the list and you will see "next page" click that and you will see even more tokens. Also try to click one of the packs and, at least for the 4E one I clicked, I could see a list of what tokens there were in the pack, and there was even a URL to a place where they said you could see the tokens as a PDF.

Yes I did.
The gaming token packs don't have links I saw, only the counter collection had images to look at.

Unfortunately, we don't yet have these cataloged - other than most of the descriptions will give a total count of the tokens. There are not repeats from these to the more recent counter collections at this time -- but many of them also contain a set of portraits as well. The ones I can think of off hand are the PC & NPC ones and some of the setting specific token packs. Images are similar to the newer counter collections in style but they typically have a solid white background and a border of some kind -- much like a pog.

Hi Doug,
Do you any screenshot examples so I can compare the 2 collections?
In general which gives the best coverage against the list of monsters in the 3.5E SRD?

graphil, most of those token packs are just conversions of token packs for face to face games so you can actually go to the Fiery Dragon, Pinnacle or Disposable Heroes pages on RPGNow.com or the companies own web pages to see samples.
Fiery Dragon: https://www.rpgnow.com/index.php?&manufacturers_id=14
Disposable Heroes: https://www.rpgnow.com/index.php?cPath=126_3866
Pinnacle: https://www.rpgnow.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=27
Personally, I used Fiery Dragon tokens long before there was a token pack. They have very good (but not perfect) coverage of the SRD monsters. I don't play 3.5 anymore but between my old 3.5 monsters and 4E monsters I have excellent monster coverage of just about every D&D monster. If I don't have the specific one then I have something that can be used for it. It's been a long time since I had to use a generic monster token.
I've used some of the Savage Worlds tokens as well but you seem more interested in D&D.

Both of the packs are from Fiery Dragon but I haven't found an example of how the gaming token packs look. What you sent covers what you can already see for the collection packs.

Ah, the style is all similar since it is done by the same artist. Download this free sample or look at the full size preview to see token examples: https://www.rpgnow.com/product/56039/H1---Castle-Of-Shadows?term=H1+

OK, so it looks like it is a choice of white background or transparent. But no overlap in pictures but presumably the monsters are covered in either pack. Correct?

I'll see if I can put together a sample of some of the older token packs. Basically, the older ones have a white background and possibly a border and they are broken down to contain all the monsters you need of a specific type from the 3.5 SRD -- such as aberration, construct, elemental, dragon, etc.
The Counter Collections are built based on 4E monsters and are split into three tiers per book (i.e. Heroic, Paragon and Epic.) They will include mixes of monsters across the entire spectrum of monster types but they will all be basically around the same level (1-10, 11-20 or 21 - 30.) As you would expect, the Epic pack will be mostly very powerful and/or large creatures such as Elder dragons, demons and outsiders. Heroic packs would contain most of the standard fantasy fare you would expect to encounter at levels 1-10 such as kobolds, goblins, bugbears, orcs and some lower level monsters such as wyverns, carrion crawlers and stuff. They also have a transparent background without a border and are organized a little differently into various token bags. The # at the end of each product corresponds to the Monster Manual book that contained the creature. Heroic 1 would be all the Heroic tier monsters you would see in the MM 1 book.
There are other token packs from Fiery Dragon that provide monsters specific to well known adventure modules. There may be some overlap in those monsters and the Heroic, Paragon and Tier packages with a few unique monsters or characters that are exclusive to the adventure. As far as I can tell, there are not many (if any) overlaps between the older creature type token packs and the counter collection token packs.
We don't presently have any bundles configured.
Installation-wise, the counter collections use the newer installer which packages them up into a module that you open or close as you need them within your campaign. The older token packs provide a zip file that you extract and includes instructions on where to place them within your shared or host folder or within your individual campaigns.
Looking through these, I would recommend that your players look at the Player & NPC token packs if they plan to play a bunch of different characters over time. This gives a nice mix of portraits and player tokens to represent your players. You could also buy and supply those as a GM. You would need to send the specific portrait to the player to link with their character sheet but you could allow them to look through the various player tokens by placing them in your shared token folder.

I posted file lists in the product descriptions of each of the Token Packs. I put up one sample of the animals & aberrations pack as well.

Thanks for all the info.
I went for the older style in the end since they fit better with the 3.5 SRD, even though they don't look as good with the white border.
