View Full Version : I cannot load the game to test it

I have a Windows XP 32-bit computer.

When I run the FGWebInstall program I receive an error, "Unable to get path. SHGetSpecialFolderPath failed."

I click "OK" and proceed with install. The game does not launch after the install, but I do get a "Fantasy Grounds" icon on my desktop.

When I open the "Fantasy Grounds" program using the icon on my desktop, I receive an error, "could not load rule set root file (base.xml). Do you want to try reloading the data?" When I select "yes", nothing happens and the error message remains. When I select "no", the program closes.

I really like the look of the program from the videos I have watched and I look forward to testing the product.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

havent seen this issue.
quick things to try - try installing as the Administrator account. Ensure you install for All Users.
Check if you have the following directory when logged in as both Admin and your normal user: %appdata%\Fantasy Grounds II (you can paste that into the Run dialogue to open/test.
