Essentially I have two questions:
How likely am I to be able to find a game using the demo version?
Is there a way to purchase the basic version without using credit cards?
A one time price of ~20$ US isn't that much however I can't use electronic means for payment and would like to try out how the environment works for roleplaying.

Can you use PayPal - setup with a bank transfer perhaps?

I'd have to look into how Pay Pal works. Usually everything I can get online I can get offline as well.
Thanks for the input.

Go to walmart and get a prepaid card. Pay for the card and the register and tell them how much you want to put on the card. You now have a credit card you can use. Costs like $3 bucks to put the funds on the card.

With the demo not sure, but you can download the unregistered version (which allows you to connect to any game that has a GM using an Ultimate license).
Next month FGIICon is happening (an online RPG convention using Fantasy Grounds II to run games), you should be almost guaranteed to get a game there, but I am sure someone will be running a game before that.

No wallmart in europe, but the idea works. A prepaid card with only a specific amount of money on it actually makes sense for these things. I work in cash since I like to live debt free and avoid credit cards like the plague. :pirate:
Oh the unregistered version isn't just a temporary demo? I'll give the program a try and if it works out I'll work payment out somehow.
Thanks everyone.

The demo version lets you see both the gm and player views and you can create but not save data.
The unregistered version will not let you do anything but connect to the ultimate version and then becomes a fully functional client until you disconnect

There is no specific "demo" version anymore. The Unregistered and Lite versions can both be used to host a demo game. Also, the Full version can be used to run a demo for a single Unregistered user.
If you installed with the latest installer, then there will be a 3.5E and 4E sample campaign installed. You can also download the sample campaigns on the Downloads page.
