Hi all,

I parsed the Pathfinder Critical & Fumble decks (which I love) into the new table format supported by the new 2.9 ruleset coming out. All you should need to do is enable this mod instead of the default one in 2.9. As far as I can tell - this is covered under the OGL.

A few notes:

1) Because there are 52 different fumble and critical effects in four different categories (for a whopping 416 total potential fumble/critical events), this really can't be automated in the way that the default tables work.

2) Instead - the ruleset will still roll to determine crits, confirm threats, and for fumbles using the standard "Fumble" and "Critical Hit" tables in the module. However, if a fumble/crit is confirmed, a message will display in chat that says "roll effect on the appropriate table".

3) At that point - just open up the tables, pick the right table, and roll the dice. As the 20-100 table will roll 2 dice up to 100, I filled in results 53-100 with a reroll on the same table to keep going until something legit pops up.

Hope you enjoy - please let me know if you have any questions, feedback, or if there's any errors.

---7/22 Update: Fixed errors in the crit tables.

Cool!

Please post a link in the modules list thread so that we all have a reference to this when looking for modules:

This looks great. However, something I noticed, in the Critical ~ Magic, and Critical ~ Slashing tables, the unused entries are all REROLL: [critical ~ piercing], instead of rerolling the same table again. Should be a minor quick fix.

I cant seem to get it activated. Within my campaign I can open the book, but I do not see anything when I close the module activation window that shows that it is activated. I have tested in battle and nothing has changed, am I doing something wrong?

When you activate the module, check the in new tables section - icon left hand column, third down in the group of icons in the top right of the FG desktop. There will be an additional blue tab at the bottom of the tables list - click this and you will see various critical and fumble tables.

Then, go into the campaign options, scroll down to the House Rules section and set "ATK: Fumble/Crit Tables" to "Fumble and Crit" or whichever option you want. Then when a fumble or crit is rolled, another D6 will be rolled that ties in with the Fumble or Crit table. 1-4 = Normal, 5-6 = roll on appropriate table. Open the appropriate table and click the die icon to roll for the result.

Thanks a lot for this great mod.
Just one question on rolling - is there no option to include the chatcommand /d52 into this to this without rerolling?

Just started on FG and watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW2Y45Bjwpo and saw the chatcommands...
and have no clue on how to do xml-sheets to check for myself...maybe later this year...but for now i try to ask the people who already know :)

thanks!

This module was released when the random table functionality was in its infancy. Since then, tables can have the number of rows equal to anything - it doesn’t have to match the dice. So, I’d recommend just deleting the re-roll rows from the table and it will then do a random number generation based off the number of remaining rows.

Once you’ve done that you may also want to look at this extension: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?23099-Basic-Card-Tables-Extensions

Here is an updated version:
Critical and Fumble Deck (https://github.com/bmos/FG-PFRPG-Critical-and-Fumble-Deck)
Download + Releases (https://github.com/bmos/FG-PFRPG-Critical-and-Fumble-Deck/releases)

It doesn't change a lot, but it has structural improvements to leverage the FG improvements since the original release.

It puts all the critical damage-type tables into a crit table and all the fumble damage-type tables into a fumble table. This lets you put these master tables in 2 hotkey slots for easy access.
It eliminates the REROLL entries since the total number of rows no longer needs to match an existing die type.
It contains the full SRD text rather than a simple trademark disclaimer (for legal reasons).

As Trenloe suggests, the Basic Card Tables Extension (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?23099-Basic-Card-Tables-Extensions) pairs very well with this (if you want to work through the deck without the chance of getting a card multiple times).
