I received this in the ole' inbox the other day and thought I'd post it here to shamelessly seek opportunities to promote FG. Obsidian Portal is a great resource for gamers, whether they be in person or remote. It is also a great source of potential players and GMs for your existing FG campaigns.

Here is the post:

Announcing: The Obsidian Portal Excellence In Innovation Award
Introducing the Obsidian Portal Excellence In Innovation Award, a new award dedicated to the very best of those revolutionizing the way tech and tabletops mix. This year at Gencon we're going to start this new tradition for Obsidian Portal and its users. The award is to be presented during our "How Technology is Chaning RPG's" panel.

You can grab all of the details on the blog, but know that we're calling upon you to tell us exactly who is deserving of this award. Gencon is closer than you think!

In truth, I'm thinking that a lot of the innovation is still ahead for us. We have a pretty good start, and some of the features inside the various rulesets are pretty innovative. The best nominations would probably be ones that focus on those sort of specifics.

i nominated you :)

Awesome VTT software with great character sheets, automisation, shared images, mapping, and dice that really roll! After a long (20year) hiatus from gaming FGII has let me fit regular gaming sessions into my very limited timetable. There are a number of great rulesets available and a great community of developers and players.

Nominated. -- I'll be keeping an eye on the Obsidian Portal website as well, since they'll be featuring nominees until they announce a winner, and there may be a gem in there I haven't heard of before. Good luck!

Filled my nomination as well with, well, a plug for how a fantastic combination Rolemaster and Fantasy Grounds are. Hope SmiteWorks wins!

I mentioned the dice roller too :p but also pointed out that FG allowed my group to play D&D 4th edition at the virtual table within a couple months after release (and well before WotC). I don't know about other VTT software, but FG had to be one of the first to have a working 4e ruleset.
