Is it true that I can't 'manage characters' for this extension?

What is currently the best way for a players to ready a character for play?

What are people doing to speed up game prep?

In FG V2.8.1 manage characters is not available for Pathfinder (PFRPG), but is for 3.5E - basically, the PFRPG specific changes aren't available on the character sheet. This is fixed in V2.9 - in beta testing.

What we do for Pathfinder Society play is ask the players to prepare their character in order of preference:

Build the character in a full version of FG (running a campaign as a GM) and use /exportchar to export the character into XML and then send the XML to the GM - who uses /importchar to put the character into their campaign ready for play.
Use HeroLab or PCGen and export the character in the Fantasy Grounds 2 import format. Send this file to the GM and they can use the character converter to put into their campaign. EDIT: Don't send the native HeroLab or PCGen file to the GM as they might not have access to the same data sets and might not be able to load the character.
Send the GM a copy of the character sheet and they enter it for the player.
the player connects to the FG session before the game and builds their PCs in the campaign directly.

The above applies equally to 3.5E or PFRPG. If you're running 3.5E in V2.8.1 you can of course use manage characters.

After a Pathfinder Society game, some players request their exported character XML be sent to them so they can use it again. This is usually done if the players made some changes to the PC while in the game - perhaps added some spells, effects, equipment, etc..
