Can anyone help,

im looking for the second best 4E character generator that doesn't involve me subscribing to WOTC >_< i don't mind shelling out for a CG just not wanting to be pillaged monthly for the privilege.

Obviously i hope this can be imported to FG2.

is hero labs the goto choice or is there another?

Thanks in advance

Cero

Actually after a bit of research it seem even Herolabs doesn't cut it as it still need to integrate with DDI >_<

CeroBlade, I don't have HeroLab but my understanding is if you have a DDI account you can download and save the data so it's more like a one time download (but you would have to update errata after the download by hand). Thus as 4E comes to an end you could sign up for one month of DDI, download the data and be good. A lot of people do something like that to parse DDI data into the 4E library books.

As an alternative to HeroLab there's a pretty good Excel 4E character gen here: https://dnd4.com/dd-4th-edition-character-sheet and there is usually a better updated version at the end of this thread: https://dnd4.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=148

There is another online one here: https://www.pathguy.com/cg4.htm
The page takes a while to load because its all done in JavaScript.

If the Excel Generator has the data you need I prefer it to the DDI one. If nothing else its much easier to just type something into the sheet because it is a spread sheet disguised as a character sheet.

This is good for PHB1 but of course doesn't synch in - found though with a good library module you can knock up a FG2 character in 5 mins

Honestly, I'd just buckle down and buy 3 months of DDI. With dungeon and dragon magazines, it's worth it.

EDIT: Whoa. I didn't know I was a necromancer. Man, this forum's deader than my ex-wife when she caught me doing one of my experiments in the cellar.
