View Full Version : Alternative map creation idea

I am playing in a game and the DM was having trouble finding maps would keep the same consistent feel to the game.

I created some png dungeon tiles that he could drop on a jpg image that fit the surroundings. I thought I would share.
here is a link, I zipped them so I could post one link.

here is a quick and dirty battle map I created, just to give you an Idea of what I am talking about.

note: While this is obviously a sewer map, the image is actually a lava tube, not a river of poo

Nice idea Nestor and the tokens are a good, quick way of creating a map. Tied in with Dr Zeuss's image layer extension these will be very useful.

There are a few more items I will be adding, I will update the zip floder and post back here.

I hope people will get a use out of them.

I updated some stuff.

added round columns

added a 2 x 4 square pit/pool with difficult terrain

added some modular pit/pool tiles where you can build your own

another update on the transparent dungeon walls tile set

I added some streams, tree trunks/bushes and paths/roads.
Here is a quick and dirty map showing a small stream intersecting a forested path.

they are all set to a 100 px = 1sq

added some cave wall tiles

the drop shadow I used does not work as seamlessly with the irregularity of the walls. When you assemble the tiles, if the edges of the 300 x 300 px square line up then when you drop the FGII grid on it then you can"t pick it up by eye.

I had mixed results with the cave walls, ill dig up what I have then link them.
