Hey all!

I am trying out FG2 and would like to know if there is an easy way (or somone possibly converted to) the demo campaign "A Tale of Dinor" included in FG2 to the 4E rulset? I'm new to D&D and have read up on the
4E rules and would like to try the demo accordingly.

In the "A Tale of Dinor" campaign folder, pen campaign.xml in a text editor. Change <ruleset>3.5E</ruleset> to <ruleset>4E</ruleset> and save.

Then when you go to load the campaign it should show 4E as the ruleset and will load with that ruleset.

Note: NPCs and encounter entries won't work as they were made for the 3.5E ruleset - you will get errors or they just won't work, so you'll need to build those yourself. However, the story entries and the maps are there for you to use.

This assumes you're running the demo campaign in a Full or Ultimate licensed version. If you are running the demo version of the software then the campaign and ruleset are locked.

The software was changed in v2.8.x, so that the Free/Lite version could be used to demo the software with any ruleset.

However, it can not be used to create or edit campaigns; and the only demo campaign being supplied right now is the Tale of Dinor for 3.5E. As Trenloe mentioned, you can convert by modifying one of the campaign files, but characters, NPCs, encounters and items may generate errors due to the differences between systems.
