We already have "karma" (which took me a while to properly see and use) but often I want to show some gratitude to a certain response or thread without spamming the conversation. Could be a small but useful addition.

Karma has a few problems IMO, I have to give it to other people before I can give it to the same person again, and it's not easy to see who is getting it and for what. With "thanks" you also get to see who the appreciative people are too.
