Since the update I can't seem to drag powers from the library module over to the character sheet from the library. I also spoke with a couple other players just a few minutes ago that are having the same issue. It appears to only be behaving like this for us in the manage characters area of FG when you are not connected to the server.

When using the character management mode to view characters from an existing campaign, those characters are read-only.

Characters created in character management mode can always be edited. When a character created in this way is selected when logging into a game session, a copy of the character is made on the host machine for that campaign.

When a character is used in a campaign, a local copy of the character sheet is saved to the client machine in order to allow the players to view their characters offline. However, those characters are read-only, since a connection to the host running the game is required to make changes to characters already in a campaign.

Is this what you are seeing?

Thanks,

Ok, I'll take a look. I assume you are using the 4E ruleset, since you mentioned powers.

Yes. We are using the 4e ruleset. It also appears that the mods availible to pull powers from has a slot for permissions that is empty. I have no idea if that is part of the problem or not. Pulling up characters that are in a campaign are doing the same thing but that is the correct behavior. Creating a brand new character just using the normal 4e ruleset still will not allow me to drag the powers over. Thanks for looking into this.

It's a bug. It happens for any ruleset not specifically upgraded to 2.8, and I'm adding a fix for the next update.

It will be a few weeks before the next update will be available, due to Gencon, vacation and testing.

v2.8.1 is currently in beta testing. Head over to the Laboratory forum and follow the instructions, if you would like to check out the changes. (The beta version is not available to Unregistered installations.)
