Following on, on my D&D retro journey, here's my sample of the classic 80's D&D Hex map symbols.

All sets are sized to 50x41px and as per my recent old style blue/black symbol sets will be available for download from my website shortly. The sets will also be forwarded to Pyro for inclusion in his excellent tile mapper tool.

Enjoy!

These are very good too. Thorfinn Tait, a Mystara player like me, has done a lot of work with the old school hex maps from the Gazetteer series (and elsewhere), including recreating old maps, updating old maps with new info and filling in some blanks. You can see his excellent work at https://mystara.thorf.co.uk/.

There is also HexGimp which offers something similar:

Thanks - as it turns out I was using one of Thorfinn's sets (for reference) without even realising.

I see that he actually has a broad range of symbol sets. I may have to look at expanding to incorporate some of the ones I'm missing.
