Hey Guys, I'm looking at putting together a Superheroes skin for a Mutants and Masterminds game I want to put together. I was hoping someone might have some icons, backgrounds, desktop images, etc. they wouldn't mind sharing to at least get this started.
If anyone wants to chat, they can find me on skype at
[email protected] or email at the same address.
Thanks,
zenile

I do photoshop for a living, I can make a skin for you if it's not too complex from my end. I was just messing around with the Generic sheet and it wasn't bad. I also bought all the M&M pdfs from green ronin so I can just import those images; you wouldn't be able to distribute it except to your players but it would get the job done. Are you making the sheet for 2cd or 3rd edition? Could I grab it from you when you're finished? I've been looking for an M&M sheet for FG2 for four whole years now.

that might explain the rather pleasing to the eye character sheet on your other post :)

There's a lot of ugly code on top of that I was too stupid to understand. ;) There's going to be a lot of "just press space until you're past the monster" going on.

I'm happy to collaborate if anyone was interested in doing a community (ie free) extension to the BRP system? There is an old BRP-based game called Superworld, for which you can still get the PDFs but not the physical product, and I've already played around with an extension which allows those rules to be used with the BRP engine.
A few points to consider:
I'm not great on graphics (neither the concept stuff, nor the actual execution), so I could only do the coding and spec what textures etc would be needed;
This would run as an extension to BRP, and while the extension would be free, we can't give away the BRP ruleset;
It probably couldn't be called Superworld, because Chaosium own that IP, so it would be the "Superheroes Extension for BRP" (in the same way as my Eldritch Horror extension isn't called Call of Cthulhu); and
We could distribute the extension, but we couldn't distribute material copied from the PDF (such as player and GM guides/rules).
Would anyone be interested?

Hi, Stuart:
I would certainly be interested. I'm a big fan of the BRP ruleset (and have been peeking under the hood for a bit now looking at building an MRQ2 extension). I've got serviceable Photoshop skills. :)

I think that's a wonderful offer and I certainly appreciate it and the work involved. But for me I've dropped so many hundreds on Mutants - it was during our City of Heroes phase - that I don't think I could ever get myself to buy Superworld. It's not the money as much as the difference, knowing all these books I've read are just this side of worthless. I'd try to incorporate some of my favorite rules but I'm sure that would cause more headache than happiness.
I might use your BRP to play M&M, some folks have mentioned elsewhere that it's the closest thing to it so far, and I wouldn't mind photoshoping a template that, at day's end, couldn't be shared. But I wouldn't be quite as into making one for a system I wasn't going to partake in.

I think a "4 color" old school superhero skin would be pretty nice.
I'd help, but Stuart and I seem to have the same artistic ability.

OK, let me have a go at something for BRP, and if the graphics stinks and anyone wants to help replace them, I won't be offended!
:D
