Hello, I am new to GF2. I purchased GF2 2.7.4 Full License. So far, its been great. However, I'm having troubles opening my connection for hosting a game.

I am running WinXP SP3
I have a DSL connection
I have an Actiontec modem (through carrier, Qwest)
I have a Linksys Router
-Verified Port Routing is setup for 1802 and 1803 for TCP

I have tried turning off Windows Firewall, and that didnt work.
I have tried adding Port 1802 as an exception in Windows Security, and that didnt work.
I have installed Himachi, and that didnt work.

What am I missing? Is there any more information that someone would need to help me trouble shoot?

Some thoughts:
* Check to see if you are running third party firewalls (McAfee, Norton, etc.)
* Try connecting directly to modem without the router.
* Check modem to see if it is acting like a router. If so, you will also need to set up port forwarding from the modem to the router external IP.

The best way to troubleshoot is to remove layers until you find the problem, then fix and put all the layers back. (i.e. router, OS firewall, third party firewall (McAfee, etc.))

Cheers,

Thanks. I checked my modem, and I had to turn off its firewall settings. Now only have router running firewall. That fixed the issue.
