I would suggest that you give prospective players an idea of what days, times and how often you think you might play. It is hard to apply if you don't know the schedule.

I am new to this site and have not played pen in paper for years. I would like to join in a group, but im not sure what is required and have no knowlegde of the game system. Would love to sign up with a game that is newbie friendly.

To start to play in a game you really have one of 2 options:

1. Download the software and Buy a Lite license or Full license version of the software then find a GM accepting players to their game or

2. Download the software and find a GM who has the Ultimate license and is accepting players. You don't need to buy a license ( and register your program) to join in a game GMed by someone with the Ultimate license. If you can find a GM with the Ultimate license to either accept you or demo a game for you, then you don't have to purchase to software to try it out.

This is where most of the GMs place notices looking for players, or notices of demo games.


You do not need to buy any rule sets to play in a game. The FG software comes with a 3rd edition OGL and 4th ed ruleset. When you join a game session for the first time the rules files will download from the GMs server.

I would highly recommend checking out the FG chat, there is almost always someone there who can help you and answer newbie questions.
