Pointer problem

I have not thought about it until now, it seem as the host i can only use one box,cone line or circle at a time.

If i draw an arrow, then a circle. the arrow goes away. tried all the combos, nothing changes. when i join a game it seems to be the same way. my players can draw a bunch of things on the map and they all stay.

Any thoughts

I just tried and if you use the mouse short cuts to draw (holding both buttons and drag) it seems like you can only have one at a time. If you go by the right click menu, they stay on the image.

That's correct. You can only have one "quick" pointer (using both mouse buttons). Any additional pointers can be drawn using the right-click menu.
