I'm a member of a gaming group that is about to start using Fantasy Grounds to play our 4E game. I'm working on getting everything set up and I need it to support widescreen laptops. Currently, the modification box overlaps the chat window. I would like to use the solution proposed here (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11281&highlight=desktop_panels.xml) to fix the problem. It requires me to edit desktop_panels.xml. Would someone be willing to give me step by step instructions on how to get that installed so I can modify it? Do I need to download the D20 rule set from Fantasy Grounds? If so, will that mess up our 4E game?

Any help would be appreciated! I have tried searching the forums and the documentation and am still stumped.

That change was actually to the 4e_JPG with is an earlier version of the 4E ruleset. That xml has not changed. It would be best to make an extension that moves the mod box to right. Thus only the people with the low resolution monitors would use the extension.

I've attached an extension for you. The extension doesn't do anything - yet - except over ride desktop_panels.xml with the same desktop_panel. First download the extension below. Then, what you need to do is change the file extension from .ext to zip and unzip the extension. You'll get three files. Edit the desktop_panel.xml one and change the left anchor offset from 15 to a value big enough to move the mod box out of the chat window.

You will probably have to try a few different values. Once you are satisfied, re-zip the three files together and then change the zip extension back to .ext and send the extension out to your friends.
