View Full Version : Latency causing lag for everyone

I've noticed that when I host clients with High Latency connections the entire game lags for everyone.

Will there be any attempt to improve FG2s handling of high latency connections?

I'm not sure what algorithm is being used to sync all the clients, but if it is waiting around for clients with high latency connections then perhaps the code can be optimized in some way.

This is a big problem for my game because I have players in Brazil and they usually have high latency.

This happens with the test version as well.

I have one player that when he is connected. causes tons of slow down.
And the 350ms should not cause that much of an issue, but it does.

yes even 350 ms is bad on fg, but I sometimes have 800 ms for some people and when that happens FG2 is almost unplayable

Must admit I'm playing Australia <-> UK, and the lag on FGII is OK.

It's the lag to our UK mumble server that I'm looking into - things are just a little slow there. Not as slow as US Vent servers I've joined, but still slow.

Just observing that the lag causes problems for VoIP (personally) before it impacts FGII too badly.
