I'm wondering if anyone knows of a pen-and-paper game that takes place in ancient Egypt or one centered around African mythology.

The only thing I have found is Nyambe: African Adventures (https://www.amazon.com/Nyambe-African-Adventures-D20-System/dp/158978023X).

I'm fine with a module or a complete game. I just need some ideas to work with in terms of setting, magic, mythology, culture and especially monsters.

Certainly, historical books on the subject can serve the purpose, but if someone has already done the legwork in terms of making it into a game or module, that would be a great plus.

UPDATE: Apparently I wasn't searching in the right place for Egypt specific pen-and-paper content. I'm still looking for African pen-and-paper material to work with. Thank you.

If you don't mind the huge holes in the system that often make you want to scream, you can always use the Rifts Africa books. :D

Exactly. I love the theme elements. I might one day try and adapt the theme to another system so I can play in the setting without feeling the need to lobotomize myself.

Heh... I used to collect all the Rifts books. I loved the back story, but the game system always left me feeling unclean. :-)

No offense to anyone who actually LIKES the Palladium game systems. But for me, ... ugh.

I have yet to meet a single person who likes the game system. Most love the theme. But the game system? Not so much. :)
