I'd like to run a game using the Pathfinder rules. I saw a few threads regarding this rule set... am I right in assuming that Paizo does not have an OGL that allows for FG to publish a rule set?

Can anyone point me in the right direction for locating such a rule set? I just spent $175 on books for my campaign so I won't feel the least bit guilty about using a clandestine rule set.

I also spent $137 here back in Nov of 2009. I see Pathfinder on the list of supported rule sets. Granted its not in bold print but that leads me to believe I should be able to run a Pathfinder compatible campaign with FGII...

Thanks in advance for any help!

There are two pathfinder extensions. One is for the d20_JPG ruleset and the other is for the d20 ruleset.

To further clarify,

The upper link is an extension for the D20_JPG ruleset. That ruleset can be found on the download page here (look up at the top of the page).

The lower link is for use with the D20 ruleset, available in the same place.

I can't attest to which extension is better, but the D20_JPG ruleset has a lot of nice features compared to the D20 (no JPG) ruleset.

In either case, to use, install the extension and the matching ruleset, start a new campaign, select the ruleset you need, and select the extension.

I would recommend the extension for D20_JPG, personally. I have been using D20_JPG for a number of years, and the Pathfinder extension since January.

If you ever need any assistance getting set up, just shoot me a message.

IANAL but I don't think there is any reason to not make a ruleset with the OGL material from Pathfinder.

Pathfinder is bound by the OGL especially because that is Paizo's basis for using the WOTC material.

You can find Pathfinder adapted 3.5 material:

I have really enjoyed Paizo's stuff ever since they gave a new life to Dragon and Dungeon Magazines. The material is really good and the game is a more complete world simulation IMHO than 4e. It is probably more work though.
But to be clear it is a direct rework 3.x D&D using the terms of the OGL. It isn't a whole new game.

If you liked 3.x and want new books, or to work in a game where people are writing new books I recommend it.
