Has anyone found a way to be able to manually set the die outcome?

I have been wanting to use FG to help with my live games as well as online, and my players enjoy rolling thier own dice. It would be great if there was some way I could 'roll' the dice in FG and then enter the number that the player rolled.. then let FG do the rest with things like calculations to hit, damage, etc. This would allow the players to roll their own dice and I would still have the ability to let FG do the work (including the log).

Is this by chance an option that is already there? Maybe I hold control and alte when I roll, and a prompt comes up "Enter the Number rolled"

anyone?

No, there is nothing in the game definitions currently.

It would be in the game definitions where this would be defined, since you would essentially be creating an interface to intercept "rolls" and ask for dice to be entered instead. Then, letting the ruleset apply modifiers, effects and applying results.

My main concern is that the dice entry would take up more time than just figuring out the modifiers yourself, or winging it as close enough. You don't want to bog down the game entering dice rolls.

Also, this could be implemented as an extension, if someone was very dedicated to the concept. Just pop up a window on a roll, asking for the values of dice rolled on the table instead of what the 3D dice rolled.

Now, electronic dice that would be read into the machine automatically would be pretty cool, but we have a little bit on that front. But, I've seen demos...

One thing you could do is use the /die command. If the player rolls a d20 and it comes up a 10, the player tells you the result along with his modifiers and tells you that the total is 15. You can then use /die 1d0+15 to get a result of 15 in the DM chat section that you can then drag where ever you need it to go.

This method would assume that the players know all of their modifiers and you are just using the combat tracker to determin hit/miss/damage without any client character sheets up.

You can also just do "/die 15 Fifteen!". You don't need a 1d0+#, just the #.
