2.7.1 Getting package listing....ERROR!

One of my players is having trouble updating FG to 2.7.1 from 2.6.5. The updater window pops up and displays "Getting package listing" and then immediately goes to ERROR! Sometimes it stays on getting package listing for 10 seconds or so before going to the error.

Is this a CD key issue? Connection issue? Should he reinstall? Just keep trying? Speedy help would be great, we're waiting on him to start gaming tonight!

He should keep trying. The update system is starting to show its age a bit with the popularity of FG. We have plans to take a look at the update process soon.

In the mean time, just have your player keep trying. Also, they should avoid any other network activity while its updating just to make sure. (especially have Facebook open).

If they continue to experience problems, please have them send their license key they are using to [email protected] and we can check the logs to see if anything jumps out.
