Say... that video capture looks vaguely familiar. :)

Glad you got it working, and the tool looks awesome!

Yeah I thought it wasn't too bad for my first effort. I need to tweak the resolution a bit I think, the video is of one of my 1440x900 screens output to 1024 x 696 or so Procaster told me.

Cheers for the pointers though.

No problem. I'd aim for an output resolution to match whatever your YouTube upload will be. If you kick out 1024p, ~157 kbps per FPS you want is a good measure (1887 kbps for 12 FPS). By the way, you want 1024x640 for 16:10 ratio. What you can do is uncheck "Lock Ratio", set the output to 16x10 and lock the ratio again, then put in 1024 and it will put in the corresponding height.

Thanks Xorn, I'll give that a try next time.

Extrapolatiing from the video - that looks very useful!

Based only on my wildly unrealistic hopes - if you were able to create something to get the stat blocks to spit out a valid npc from a simple cut and past job- well, I'd be naming my next child Zeuss.

Say thank you to Tenian for the database functionality.

Thank you Tenian!

DrZeuss - does the development version of the Module Workshop you have on your site require a specific version of the .NET 4 framework? I've installed it and checked it (have C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319) but your installer app won't let me continue. It insists I don't have it.

To answer my own question - it looks like it currently needs the full .NET 4 framework (sdk) and not just the redistributable. Installing now! :)

You noticed I had silently released this eh, well spotted. I'll be staring a new thread this weekend and will be posting up a user guide as well.

Note: to use the NPC database functionality you will need to create an NPC database using the latest 4.0.89 release of the Parser. See the parser docs on how to do this.

Regarding .NET frameworks, you are correct the current test build needs the full .NET 4.0 framework and not just the smaller .NET 4.0 Client framework. I may change this moving forward if I can get away with just using the client framework but for now install the full framework.

Hello DrZeuss! I love the work you are doing for the 4E & FGII community. I have a small request. Can you add dates next to your files and their version numbers so we can keep better track of what has been updated and when?

The number of files on your site is slowly growing. Would make it easier to keep track!

Glad you find the projects useful. After the recent re-skin of the site I completely forgot about dates. I'll add those in over this weekend.

Thanks again for this - I can convert at a much faster pace with this tool. The npc db is working fantastically, although the encounter stuff is a little buggy - it seems to stop recognizing stuff on the clipboard and show the previous encounter, and it doesn't add categories. That plus the fact that npc db names often don't match up with the encounter npc name exactly means I basically have to do a one time dump of encounters, edit it and not touch the encounters button again. Either way it makes editing so much quicker.

Thanks Dr Zeuss and Tenian!

Would it be possible to get a detailed step-by-step guide on how to use this tool?

First of all I would like to complement Dr. Zeuss on this great tool. Secondly I would like to thank him, Xorn and Tenian. With their tutorials and help, I got FGII running for my Dark Sun campaign in only 8 hours of work. Which is freekin' awesome!

I don't have any experience with .NET Framework, but if there is anything I can do to help, let me know!
